The Commercial Integrator BEST Award recognizes superior products that help integrators improve their business and increase profitability. Stewart's Silver 5D screen material is an innovative fabric that offers excellent passive 3D polarization preservation, while maintaining outstanding performance for 2D sources. It provides integrators with the flexibility of installing a screen that brilliantly displays both 2D and 3D content, saving time and simultaneously providing a great value to the consumer.
The StarCam integrated camera housing for Stewart StarGlas laminated rear projection screen systems is recognized by Commercial Integrator for its easy integration into new and existing rear projection rigid screen installations. The StarCam is a great value to integrators. An existing 4:3 screen system can be replaced easily with a more current 16:9 or 16:10 image area screen and added camera functionality. The venue is upgraded with the added value of the StarCam feature without disturbing the integrity of the existing opening or millwork, thereby minimizing construction costs.
"We are honored to receive a Commercial Integrator BEST Award for our new Silver 5D screen material and innovative StarCam housing system," said Grant Stewart, Stewart Filmscreen President and CEO. "The Silver 5D material and StarCam both provide exceptional value to integrators as they capitalize on evolving 3D video technology and growing use of telepresence."
The Silver 5D material has been designed to be compatible with Stewart's CineCurve, Director's Choice masking systems and all premium Stewart fixed mounting systems including the beautiful fixed-frame Gallery Series and the elegant Swarovski Crystal-covered Couture Collection. This screen material can be provided in retractable formats, unlike many competing fabrics that preserve polarization. This single screen solution can be Micro perforated or Cinema perforated, and can easily integrate into any business or home theater environment. Silver 5D essentially provides incredible flexibility with limitless application options.
The StarCam provides a mount for video cameras in a clear, or tinted glass port that is integrated into a black inlay border that frames the projected image. The system can be used with screens in multiple aspect ratios. The StarCam can be combined with new screens in any aspect ratio, and retrofitted into existing 4:3 rear projection systems with an accompanying update of image aspect ratio. Architects and designers are so happy that Stewart Filmscreen has now hidden the VC camera away from view allowing the room to rise to its full poetential – an industry first.
